Serious about security

SDLC Solutions awarded ISO27001

Following an intensive two-day external assessment, SDLC Solutions has been awarded the ISO security certification ISO27001.

ISO27001 is an information security management system (ISMS) standard published in October 2005 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Its full name is ISO/IEC 27001:2005 - Information technology -- Security techniques -- Information security management systems -- Requirements but it is commonly known as ISO 27001. It is intended to be used in conjunction with ISO/IEC 27002, the Code of Practice for Information Security Management, which lists security control objectives and recommends a range of specific security controls.

Managing Director, Pete Stock, believes this certification give SDLC Solutions a competitive edge and demonstrates to our prospects and clients that the company is serious about security matters.

“Our work with members of the ATLAS consortium for the Ministry of Defence highlighted the level of security they expect from their delivery partners and was one of the major influences in our decision to go for ISO27001. While not many organisations currently demand the certification, we expect that it will soon become a de facto requirement and we are leading the way in this area. Consultancy firm, ECSC, worked closely with the company to guide us through the entire process. It proved to be a superb choice as working with them is how I would like to think our clients view working with SDLC Solutions. Their expertise added real value, they were easy to work with and they were very professional. ECSC consultant, Lucy Sharp, deserves particular thanks for her hard work throughout the project,” said Pete.

The SDLC Solutions (ISO 27001) Statement of Scope covers information security management for software testing consultancy services provided by employees in Wilmslow (Head Office) and satellite offices, employees and contractors on client sites and mobile and home workers.
