SDLC Solutions Ltd, the UK testing solutions specialist, was set up in 2002 and, until April 2010 when it was acquired by NCC Group, the international and independent provider of escrow and assurance testing, it was privately-held by two of its directors, Pete Stock and David Hallam.
Initially, SDLC Solutions was engaged by organisations that had worked with the two directors in their previous roles but its reputation was soon established and, through referrals, the company quickly gained new clients.
As it grew, revenues increased from the first full year’s £600K (02-03) to, most recently, £12.7m (09-10). These increasing revenues continue to reflect the confidence and value that SDLC Solutions' clients gain from working with the company.
The company opened its training facility in 2005 in order to offer a comprehensive training solution to clients as well as to its own staff. This offering has grown and the company has estabished partnerships with other training specialists to offer a portfolio of software testing courses.
A further broadening of services took place with the acquisition of Total Solutions Group, a company specialising in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) market, and through establishing a close working relationship with Positive Analysis, a company specialising in providing business analysis services.
SDLC Solutions also offers development services in partnership with associate companies and has an established relationship with Indian-based testing company, DSRC, to offer offshore testing services.
The company has held ISO9001:2000 certification since 2005 and in 2009 gained the ISO27001 security certification. In the same year, SDLC Solutions was awarded Investors in People status.
SDLC Solutions now operates autonomously within the Assurance Division of NCC Group, complementing the Division's existing security and testing capabilities and enabling the Group to provide a wider range of information security assurance services.
